This is VERY beautifully done, but doesn't it not fit the rules for the contest?
"-must be in the form of a portrait or illustration showing a single Gnome or Goblin character with one of their inventions. The invention can be a new invention or a re-interpretation of an invention currently in the Game."
Yeah. If the official rules are to be read in a strict manner, any art that isn't directly created for this contest is an invalid entry.
Unfortunately, that gets rid of quite a few good entries, but I understand why they are enforcing it. It would essentially give a head-up to those artists already working in the field and make the contest an unequal ground.
"When I become the greatest warrior in the Iron Forge, you will be my bride..." "Look, you really don't have to ..." "But I must! For how else shalt I proveth myself worthy of mine fair maiden's love?" runs off and gets stepped on by a horse "... note to self: reduce self-righteousness modifier"
It's a wonderful artwork and very unique , concept-wise , but i dont see how this is a valid entry for the GvG contest. The rules say it must be created for the contest and feature a single gnome/goblin and her invention. What the hell DeviantArt...?
Yeah you are right , it would actually be pretty outrageous if it did. But its still annoying because this artwork used the publicity of the entrants' section to attract views etc. And its really a shame because this artwork is amazing and doesnt really need such tricks to attract. But anyway , maybe the artist cant speak english so well and didnt understand the rules , who knows
